Default Against the law for Italians to kick dogs or mothers-in-law!

"In its most recent ruling this week, it made kicking your dog a
crime. In the case of a Sicilian man, the high court ruled he was
guilty and upheld a fine of 5,000 Euros ($6,150), even though the dog
was unhurt.

"Then there's the mother-in-law. The court ruled in December that
hostility to a mother-in-law, even without 'an overt threat, should be
punishable by law.'"

That's very good news about the dogs, of course, but I think we should
always have the right to kick our mothers-in-law whenever it pleases
us. Especially if it's to get them to LEAVE.

Just kidding, honey!

The first I appluad, the second should be revoked. I love my MIL but I
wouldn't wish my own mother on my worst enemy. I feel for my husband and
BILs. They only see her once a year but its once a year too much.

Tara, maybe we could initiate a new grass roots movement against
mothers-in-law?

We could call it: S.C.R.A.M.

Sardonic Citizens Rising-up Against Mothers-In-Law!

I, too, love my MIL(no, really...I do), especially when she's back
home in California. It's just that's she's never back there anymore,
preferring the comfort (and liquor supply) of the Morrison household
instead.

I can't even wear just my skivvies around the house anymore!

I don't have the problem of relative staying or visiting often. I'm so
unlikable & hard to live with that its a non-issue

I happen to really like my MIL (I'd like her a whole lot more if she
laid off about the whole grandkid issue). She's a lovely person, and
therein lies the problem. She's just too nice. Sometimes I just want
to shake her because her good nature is constantly taken advantage of,
and she doesn't even realize it.

How about putting a BIG lock on that liquor cabinet? Maybe it's not you
she likes....

I guess there is something we all should be thanking your MIL for ;-)

That explains so much.

She actually LIKES me!

Have you tried wearing your skivvies around the house? That might do it.
