Luke's eating again! Thanks to all!
Especially you, Buglady.
I did as you suggested; I sat down with him and talked to him about the move, (I don't mind telling you I felt more than just a bit silly.) I made sure the two of us were alone. I took him in the bedroom and shut the door with just the two of us and talked to him about the whole move and whatever else was going to happen. Since then, he's eaten 3 more meals unassisted and I also put his food in a plastic bowl instead of the metal one. I felt the metal one would be a bit harder on his teeth than a plastic one. ( Of couse, it's my best platic tupperware bowl with the burping lid,so now I need to get another one.) BG! Thanks for the canned food suggestions, you too Sharon, Matt, Sally, Deb and everyone else who participated in this thread. I'm going to get some canned to take with us in case it happens again as well as get some for him now. I'll be trying to stay as close to his normal food as possible. Sure is grand to see him eating again! Whew! Thanks all! Terri and Luke, happy camper-dog again! |
