We got a rescue puppy today, lab/shep mix about 15 weeks old she's pretty
scared and totally untrained. When our 4 year old yellow lab goes near the
puppy it growls at her. Of course the 4 yr old lab is a big chicken and
backs away from the puppy. This is gonna sound stupid but we've only had the
puppy about 4 hours and she is very scared so we're hoping that this is not
a sign of things to come and that once the puppy settles and gets used to
everyone we won't have a problem. She was the shy one of the two puppies
that were available and she was covered with dirt and other stuff and had a
bath when we got home so it has been a pretty traumatic 4 hours for her.
There wasn't much history on her except she came from VA with her 6 sisters.
Any thoughts on this behavior?
