of shocker collars, cars and danger..
I have a 1 yr old Golden Retriever. I trained him basic obiedence and
generally is a good dog. However, on occasion he is able to get out when not on a leash and simply disobeys any commands. Unfortunately there have been times where he has run out in front of cars and needless to say, that scares me. When training with a leash, I can have him sit and stay, drop the leash, walk about a 100ft or so infront of him, tell him to come and he comes and sits right infront of me. So I *know* he knows the commands, but simply disobeys if he gets out and is not in the "training" set of mind (I guess thats the best way to put it) Ultimately I think it would be great to be under total voice command with no leash. However, I seem to be having difficulty transitioning to that point. Any ideas? |
