Concerned about Kennel care
Hi,
I took my 2 year old pup to a Kennel's for the week-end. I'd checked it out before hand and someone had recommended the place to me. My dog is a former rescue pup and I was concerned about leaving him anywhere, but I've had him for 1 1/4 years now and he did well in Doggie Day care, and I thought kenneling shouldn't be too different from that. However when we picked him up yesterday, though he seemed very happy to see us, he soon went into a slump and has been depressed ever since. He won't eat and just mopes around. He lays outside on a cement slab and refuses to come in. He is ordinarily inside most of the time and lays on a cushy bed. I wish he could talk and tell me what went on where he was. They told me he had a good time and got along well playing with the other dogs. Is this normal to behave this way? I didn't want to kennel him but didn't have a choice. I had to leave town for overnight. Let me know what your experiences are with the kennels please. Thanks! |
