Dylan update
We had Dylan (GSD, age 9) at the vet's yesterday for her
three-month cancer check. The really good news is, no sign of a recurrence (it was discovered nearly two years ago). The not so good news is that her hip dysplasia has gotten worse, to the point where we may need to consider surgery. (We knew this before seeing the xrays - she's been having a problem with stairs for about three weeks.) She's been on Feldene for more than a year (primarily as an anti-cancer drug), and her oncologist switched her to Dermaxx, a COX-2 inhibitor, which he said appears to be at least as effective against cancer as Feldene. We'll also be adding chondroitin and MSM to her glucosamine. Does anyone have experience with Dermaxx with their dog? Good or bad? FurPaw (also posted in rec.pets.dogs.behavior) -- There's no reason to give credence to anything spoken above 90 decibels. To reply, unleash the dog. |
