it's harriet's birthday today. some days i didn't think both
of us would survive to see her fifth birthday, but somehow we
managed it. i don't have any particular festivities planned,
but i've got some chicken bits (left over from a bone
gathering project), so the dogs'll have chicken
somethingorother for a treat. she got extra snugglies this
morning, too. she was being so sweet that it made it hard to
leave for work. hmmm. i guess that's why she made it to her
fifth birthday--there's nothing quite like Boxer wuv.

it's also a sort of belated celebration for elliott. he
didn't get no birfday nuffin' this year, because echo-kitty
died on his birthday. weird how that worked out. i don't
think he minded the lack of festivities. he's an
uncomplaining sort of boy.

anyway, happy birthday, baby girl.

thanks! she's getting chicken bits. that may not sound like
a big deal, but it's a rarity for them, so it's specialer than
Frosty Paws or fish treats, which they get regularishly. oh,
and she got squeeze cheeze this ayem. for being cute. she
came inside with grass sticking outta both sides of her mouf,
looking for all the world like a wee baby cow. ya just
*gotta* reward that sort of cuteness.
