Who _are these people?
Watched the Purina 'Incredible Dog Challenge' (a re-run, I think) and
continue to be puzzled by the sex of the competitors. How are they selected? The skijoring finalists were all men, and the four-dog sledders were all very young women. The previous week's agility competition was fascinating with the handlers on mountain bikes, and their course was more arduous than that of their dogs who had their own alongside. The dogs' jumps were hay bales and such. Although there were women on the four teams, the television coverage was mainly of the men. Pisses me off because a friend (who just opened her human/dog conditioning gym) could whup 'em. Anybody know anything about this competition? Is it sanctioned by any of the national organizations? |
