I once had an accidental breeding of boxer beagles. But they were in love
even when she wasn't in heat. (Lesson - never leave your in-heat female in
the care of neighbors who will send their kids - accompanied by their boxer
male - over to feed her.)

And then I saw the results of a redbone female and a male bassett. We
decided she must have "scootched" down for him. Or maybe he pushed over a
bale of hay. Or both.
