Housebraking problems
My 18-month old pit mix is housebroken, or at least she is most of the time.
Once or twice a week she just goes to the bathroom in the house. She always has the opportunity to make outside regularly and she rarely has to hold it more than 6 hours, which she is capable of doing. She just goes in the house b/c she feels like it, not b/c she was unable to hold it any longer. She knows she isn't supposed to do this, when I come home and find it she cowers as she knows she has done something wrong. But she continues to do this. Any thoughts on what I can do? Crating her isn't an option, as I have another dog who doesn't have problems and is give free reign of the house. Thanks. |

It's the most sure-fire way to solve the problem. I'd suggest a dog door from the house into a securely fenced yard, if that's possible. That way, she can go outside and relieve herself whenever she needs to. flick 100785 --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). I don't believe it is fair to crate 1 dog and leave one roaming freely,
especially when the crated dog can see and hear the non-crated dog. And a doggie door isn't possible, we live in a condo in the city so we don't have a door to the outside.
