8 Year Old German Shepherd
Nearly a week ago my German Shepherd had a bit of an upset stomach and
stopped eating his regular dry meals but kept his normal "eat everything I can" appitite and was reluctant to go for walks but still loved to play in the back garden. At first I thought he had had a bad batch of food which sickend him but I have also noticed a slight swelling in the abdomen area which is not all all painful for him. He still wont finish his actual meals and I have had to find ways to feed him outwith the meals to keep his strength up. Naturally he has been at the vet and I am waiting for blood tests back, but in the mean time I am trying to find out what is going on. Has anyone any ideas ? Thanks. |

Ask for an ultrasound even if blood tests come back in the normal range. My GSD had the same problem with normal blood tests, and he was very pain tolerant. The swelling came out to be a baseball sized liver tumor that pushed other organs out of place. Unfortunately the doctor didn't find it until it had burst. Not to scare you, but it's a common disease for GSD and labs. Have it scanned just to be sure. Good luck. |

Thanks for that, he is off to the hospital for a scan on Monday and has also
been diagnosed as slightly anemic. "JM" wrote in message ...
