Dog won't leave cat alone
I have a problem, we just got a new kitten and already have 3 dogs. 2
of the 3 have no prolem and let the cat be, the 3rd, a shepard/doberman mix, will not leave the cat alone. He doesn't hurt the cat, he's just always right there in his face, licking and sniffing him and basically just will not let the cat be. Pretty much like that cat is a toy to him. We want the kitten to start learning his way around the house, but when the dog is around (which is whenever we let the dog around the cat) he stays in a corner hissing and swatting at the dog. I've tried punishing the dog by scolding, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? |

If you need to put him on a tie down for a while so you can get a respite from having to constantly redirect then do it. This kind of situation is one in which understanding the principles of behaivor and modification really helps because you can craft the right solution for your situation.
