What did I hear?
Why does anything amiss with our animals make us CRAZY? I get so
scared at the vet's, I can't listen well.* Mac was diagnosed with mild displasia two years ago, but has been symptom free. Last night, he stopped putting weight on a hind leg. The vet wasn't sure this morning if it's a bruised foot or pain from the hip. Wait and see for two days: "And _give him the Rimadyl, this time; I promise it won't kill him." I've been haunted for two years that hip replacement looms. The vet said it'll not be necessary. I _think he said mild displasia doesn't become severe displasia, but can worsen because of arthritic involvement. Does that square with anyone's experience? This vet, btw, was one of those who developed the U. of Penn. system for hip evaluation, so he should know hips. I better take a tape recorder Friday. Can you think of questions I should ask? *Occurs to me: I'm totally indifferent to what doctors or dentists do to me. Why are our animals different? Because they seem so vulnerable? http://community.webtv.net/k9apple/Macintosh |
