Default Mowing

a love of yardwork doesn't come naturally to me, but i'm reluctantly
learning to enjoy mowing. i usually leave the dogs inside while i mow
and let them out as soon as i'm finished. harriet has started to make a
habit of rolling around on her back in the freshly mown grass. i
haven't any idea why (neither dog rolls in gross stuff, thank the
gods!). i think i like it, though. hours later, she still smells like
fresh, green grass. it's nice.

An idea isn't responsible for the people who believe in it.

We live dangerously - both dogs are with me while I mow the
lawn. I know that there's nothing to fling.

Especially the first mow of the year! Rocky'n'Friday have done
this from Day One, though. Harriet may have developed some sort
of fetish.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I always have them out with me too. They'd be naughty barking fools
if I were outside and they had to stay in! Besides, it's a good way
for them to get extra exercise. I use a push mower inside the dog-yard,
the riding mower won't fit through the gate. I usually throw Coda's
frisbee around between bag-dumps.

And, I like the way Coda's white-socked feet turn green.

*sigh*

my dogs try to eat the mower. and the vacuum cleaner. and the hair dryer.
and the garden hose. and the swiffer. and they go totally insane at the
sight of the duster.

are we detecting a pattern here?

silly eevil pit bulls.
