Default JRTs at shelter

Appears that we had a collector nearby me. 67 year old woman who had lost
her job.

www.thedailyreview.com Right now it's the headline news so you don't
have to go searching through their site to get the story.

They picked up 31 dogs, mostly JRT and mixes. The picture on the webpage is
just of puppies but our paper also has a picture of the stacks of crates
they were in after transporting to the shelter. All the ones I can see have
that JRT look. The dog warned had been out before and picked up seven dogs
then and issued a warning. Things didn't improve so they went back and
seized them all.

They say the dogs are poorly socialized and some may not be adoptable
because of biting. All the usual illnesses.

It's especially sad because there are programs in the county that would have
provided food for the dogs. But in order to qualify, the dogs must be
licensed and have rabies vaccinations. Perhaps even that cost was too much
for her.

Add this to the puppy mill that is starting to operate nearby and I'm
revving up for some sort of local crusade.

~~Judy
