Eating cicadas = diarrhea? Or worse?
"Handsome Jack Morrison" wrote in message ... In Mike Fox's column today, he mentions that dogs appear to get diarrhea from eating cicadas. Hmm. Rocsi's been eating plenty of them, all of which appear to be normal cicadas, and has suffered no ill effects whatsoever. |

A cyber friend's dog DIED from eating cicadas, so yes, it can be worse. It
was on a weekend, and by the time the upset tummy had progressed to siezures and they were on their way to the emergency vet, it was too late. No history of siezures in the dog, and he was a healthy but slightly obese 10 year old terrier mix. They were too grief stricken to have a necropsy done, but the vet did say it was entirely possible that the whole episode was due to the cicada consumption alone and not other underlying factors. |

Brandy,
Wasn't herself for a day or so. She was just picking at her food which is normal when it gets hot out but then she pooped and in the pile were a few wings. We don't have a ton of them I haven't even seen any in the yard but obviously she got one in the yard somewhere and ate it. The next day she was back to normal chomping down her food and running through the yard. Celeste "Sunflower" wrote in message ...
