Default Two year old lab bathroom issues

Hello all

I have a two year old black lab. Her name is Gypsy and we just moved into a
new home. I work first shift and my husband works second shift. One of us
are home at all times. We let our dog out several times a day. Four to six
times a day in fact.

She was crate trained as a puppy and is very well behaved. Except for one
problem. She is peeing and pooping in the house. She will do one or the
other about twice a week. She has been doing it for a couple of months now.

When I let her out she will sit by the door barking to be let back in. I
thought she was missing me so I walked out into the yard and she will run
back to the door and wine to be let in. I have done everything from ignore
her barking to praising her when she goes potty. Standing outside with her
so she will go started working at times. I think most people would agree
with me that you should not have to stand outside with your dog so they can
go potty. I have been crate trainning her again and dont feel like she
should have to be crated while I sleep but I cant have her going potty in
the house.

I could use some suggestions as how I can better train her. Thank you

Good challenge, Whisper.

I accompany my dogs outside for a bunch of reasons.

me too! that way i know that they actually pottied. i can also keep an
eye on color, texture, etc., which is sometimes the first indication you
get that a dog is ill.

I would agree with you there. most people will not stand outside with their
dog. They will take a walk with their dog outside so that s/he can go to
the bathroom. It is a great way to meet neighbours, other dogs in the area,
and get some fresh air and exercise. It is also a great way to enjoy
yourself, especially if your dog decides, like Moogli did this morning,
that the pinecone sitting in the middle of the sidewalk is

[creepy horror voice]

eeeevillll!!! Muwahahahahaaaa!!!
