Revolution for Mange???
Has anyone ever heard of using Revolution to treat mange? My vet said
to apply the Revolution now and then again in 2 weeks, along with Ketoconazole once a day for 7 days. Just wondering... Thanks |

It will treat/prevent scarcoptic mange. It is one of the "selling" points.
I do not know how bad your dog's case is, but this may be conservative treatment. "funbun16" wrote in message om... Has anyone ever heard of using Revolution to treat mange? We are using Revolution for our lab/collie mixed dog. It has been a week
and no change. We are suppose to give Revolution again in 3 weeks and the vet says it will be months before the sarcoptic mange will be gone. Some of the ads on the subject of mange relief products sound really good but it could be a scam. |

Are you saying that your vet has told you to treat Sarcoptic mange with a monthly dose of Revolution? Is the dog getting any kind of other more frequent treatment for the mange in addition to the Revolution? -- Tara |

It is my understanding that scabies is caused by little burrowing mites. -- Paula "Anyway, other people are weird, but sometimes they have candy, so it's best to try to get along with them." It is my understanding that scabies is caused by little burrowing mites. The mite burrow to lay eggs but they also walk around on the surface of the skin and mate. The eggs hatch in the little tunnels, grow to adulthood, mate and lay more eggs. Revolution is one of several monthly preventatives, given most popularly for heartworms, that work for treatment of sarcoptic mange but not just on a monthly basis. A second, bi-weekly, dose needs to be administered in the case of sarcopsis. Most vets I know treat with an oral but they also administer dips or baths so that they are able to combat the infestation two ways and hopefully resolve the problem more quickly. -- Tara |
