Puppy's Hind Legs
I own a female Golden Retriever called Amber. She's about 4 months
old. She's suddenly developed weak hind legs. She struggles to get up and when she does get up and takes some steps, her legs look bent. Her appetite is good and all her bodily functions are okay. She is also full of puppy mischief. There are no signs of injury and if I hold her hind legs and try to stretch them, there are no apparent signs of pain from her. Can someone help? |

Thanks for your input and your concern. I had been consulting a vet
and wasn't making much headway which is why I had posted here. The second vet I consulted (on the recommendation of the first vet)said it could be a genetic defect. He put Amber on a 10-day course of medicines and said that there was not much chance of recovery and it would be kinder to put her to sleep after observing developments for a month or so. However, over the last few days she has started getting up and walking around with a waddling gait. This has infused fresh hope within us and especially my 12-year-old son. Thanks again. |
