Default RIP Tanner 1987 - July 13, 2004

This morning, at approx 8:15 am today, I let my funny little toy poodle,
Tanner, go. It was an excruciating decision, but he'd stopped eating
completely (not even cat food, usually his favorite), was down to skin
and bones and could hardly stand. I'd been praying he'd go quietly on
his own, but it was not to be.

I met Tanner on October 9, 1999, after answering an ad on
http://www.petfinder.org. He was found, sick and starving, and with a
BB embedded in his tail, wandering down a freeway in Montana: the
wonderful Brenda of the Rimrock Humane Society took him from a shelter,
nursed him back to health, then sent him to Tiny Tails Rescue of
Seattle. The equally wonderful Susan of Tiny Tails was kind enough to
let him come live with me.

He was sweet, funny and cuddly, although his temper got shorter and
shorter as he grew older. He was deaf, blind in one eye, toothless and
had a bad back, but had an incredible spirit. Old pictures at

Goodbye, sweet Tanner, I know of several dogs who I'm sure are there to
greet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so sorry. It leaves such a hole in your heart. But how lucky you were
to find each other.
