I set up this website, hopefully I did it right!

I tried to take a side profile, but he and my assistant weren't in a
cooperative mood. In the profile, he usually has his tail up.. basically
a 180 from where it is in the photo.

If there are other angles that would make an ID easier, just let me know and
Ill give it a try.

yes, there are tons of hounds here. One of my childhood dogs looked like a
1/3 size coonhound.

My husband says Cypher runs like a greyhound
his front legs run "seperately" while his back legs move together. plus,
his rear legs kind of splay out as he runs..

Well, he could be all lab - he resembles a number of field labs I've known.
He is young and will fill out a great deal in the next year. Does he like
to retrieve?

My vote: Field Lab

nope, not really.. forgot to mention that.. he will OCCASSIONALLY
play fetch.. most of the time its like "what did you throw that way over
there for?" If you can get him excited and pumped up, he's good for maybe
4-5 throws then he's done.

It's not unusual for puppies to be less than thrilled with retrieving , even in
retrieving breeds.
