Funny Agility story (even if you don't do agility!)
I was regaled with this *true* story at my club's annual pool party last
night, and had to share... First, for those who don't do agility, or haven't done it long enough or in the wrong venues: when a judge says "go on", it means "Please move on to the next obstacle.". So- Early days of agility (late 80's, early 90's), a new handler is in the ring with a large dog. She gets through the first few obstacles just fine, but at the base of the teeter her dog abruptly stops and begins to urka-gurka... hic, hic, hic, hic, retch, BLORP - up comes the dog's breakfast, right on the down end of the teeter. The judge says "Go on." Handler looks at the judge.. "What?" "Go *on*." "Did you say 'go on'?" "GO ON." "Are you SURE?". "Yes! Go ON!" And the handler says "Go teeter".... |

And the handler says "Go teeter".... for those who don't get the joke... Can you say "catapult", boys and girls? |

I've seen it a few times, as well as seeing a dog stop on the top of the A-frame and lift his leg - and seeing a dog lift his leg on the SCRIBE. It always baffles me- why the dogwalk? Why, to please the owner, of course. Dogwalk is about the most convenient place to clean the poop out. Kappa used to pee in the middle of the tunnel. Turns it into kind of 'black hole' -- everybody in nobody out... I used to keep big towel handy - to clean the mess up. And our tunnel is the heviest one you can find, thank you very much. Nick(Chicha). BTW- TOTALLY off-topic- have you heard that there's apparently going to be a new Sharpe film with SB? |
