I have sat with him for as long as an hour just to have an accident only moments later in the house. Am I doing something wrong or do I just have a very stuborn pup? You're staying out too long. Take him out on leash to that spot, and wait no more than 5 minutes. If he doesn't go, take him back in the house and crate him. 20 minutes later, take him out again. Rinse and repeat. He will eventually have to poop, and he will have no option but to poop there, and you can reward it enthusiastically and give him play time. By the way, he may be bright enough to let you know when he wants to go out, but at his age he's physically unable to hold it for very long. Don't get overconfident - that is VERY young for 100% housebreaking success. :} Canine Action Dog Trainer http://www.canineaction.com My Kids, My Students, My Life: http://hometown.aol.com/dfrntdrums/m...age/index.html |

There is my mistake I have not been crating him in between, just watching
him, and when he squats rush him back out. I will certainley try this...thanks. I am also rewarding him with play and a food treat when he does go in the right spot. Also, don't worry I don't think he is house broken yet, just that he seem to be doing well at communicating with us. "Leah" -OFF wrote in message ...
