Compulsive Eating Disorder?
I have 3 dogs.
A fem mini-shepherd-X mix (35lbs, shorthaired) about 13yrs old. My pooch since she was 6mo's old. A Anatolian Shep (90+ lbs) 4yrs old. Adopted when he was about 2yrs old A G.Shep-X mix about 5 mo's old. Adopted last month. The Anatolian (Patch) came from a shelter (all my dogs do.. I guess if they were purebreds then they would be "rescues" ..) He had some hip damage when they took him in, but a local vet-surgeon donated hip surgery for him to the shelter. Upon Patch's start with us, he "bound" to my wife. He's not a confident in his demeanor. Rather "wimpy". He's real protective of my wife though. I thought he was total "wimp" untill he took exception to a power-company-employee's tone of voice and chased said employee into their car, then proceeded to chomp the car's bumper untill it left. My behavioral problem is: Patch whines and moans when I get near my missus. He then realizes that I'm not to be messed with, so dashes over and eats. He wont "defend" missus from me but he gets really emotional when I get near her. Any Ideas on how to make this pooch understand that I'm allowed to touch my wife? MikeD |
