OT Group Project Update
(Rpdb is making a quilt for Marcel's kid. If you're curious, google on
any recent thread with "group project" in the subject line to find out what's going on. If you're not curious, all the threads on this subject have "group project" in the subject line so skip those.) At this point I have a bunch of people signed up to decorate fabric and send it to me to be included in the quilt. Sign-up is now over. If you're dying to get in, email me and we'll talk, but I'm not guaranteeing that your fabric will get in the finished quilt. There might be more ways to participate later that don't involve decorating fabric. I'll keep y'all informed on that as I run into bumps that I need help with. Your next deadline is October 1, 2004. You have until then to decorate your fabric any way you like that is permanent, baby safe and won't gum up my sewing machine. That can be with pigma pens, fabric dyes, fabric paints, embroidery thread, piecing, applique, photo transfer and anything else you can think of that is permanent, baby safe and won't gum up my sewing machine. Normally available for questions, I'll be away from my computer for a while so be patient with me if you get stuck and need help. I DO want your name and your dogs' names on the front of your fabric square. You must sign your work. I was going to remind y'all of that later when we got closer to the deadline but thought I'd mention it now too. In traditional quilts, the contributor's home town might have been written on as well. So that's the message. You have until October 1 to experiment and be creative. I'm not thinking that these works of art should take a month to create. One night should do it. I am thinking that people get busy, and it sometimes takes a month before you can find one afternoon free to decorate fabric. --Lia |
