Default Create-Your-Own Canine Entertainment

Introducing two sure-to-delight, accidentally discovered, ideas for
entertaining your dog...

#1 The Canine Television
-Parts List:
a. 10 gallon aquarium
b. wood shavings
c. big spinning wheel
d. miniature wooden house
e. dwarf hamster

Add all parts together and you have a new doggy tv. If you're lucky
like me, you'll get a hamster that takes great joy in both showing off
and demonizing your dog. If you're not so lucky try training the hamster.

Jinx (dwarf Siberian hamster) likes to stand straight up, as tall as he
can make himself and press against the glass facing Fancy and staring at
her. This is sure to get perked up ears & a wrinkled forehead from even
the most nonchalant of canines. Fancy & Pebbles find it highly
entertaining, the Best Show on TV actually, when Jinx burrows 'round
real fast under the shavings then pops up and scratches with the tiny
little leg going at warp speed. Oohs and aahs (huffs & snot blowing if
you're a Boxer) are sure to follow.

#2 Hamster Roller Derby
-Parts List:
a. one clear plastic ball (fully enclosable)
b. one hampster
c. hard horizontal surface

Place hampster in ball, close securely and place on a hard, horizontal
surface. Watch your dogs enjoy an exhilirating game of lunge & jump
back that's sure to wear them out. As the hampster rolls across the
floor in his ball your dogs, if they're like mine, will watch
dumbfounded at first, to be followed by a fast lunge towards the ball
and finished with a quick jump back. Wrinkled foreheads, looks of
consternation & confusion and some whining are all legal actions in this
game.

Disclaimer: No hampsters were harmed during the discovery of these
entertainments.

If you have a dog, or particular breed of dog, that is known for
vanquishing rodents and other small prey, it is a very good idea to
provide them with alternate entertainment in a different room.

Hampsters, while not toxic, should not be ingested by your dog(s).
