Aspirin and the NSAIDs are very hard on a dog's stomach. Don't give
either without very specific directions from the vet.

Often, the vet will NOT give a pain medication for minor to moderate
pain that shows up when walking/running. They want the dog to be QUIET
to heal, not to exercise as if healthy.

A phone call to your vet should get you the right answers.
