Default rotten dog

Why does he insist that I get up at 7:00?
He doesn't have to go potty, he just wants to get me up at 7.

Last night I was eating on the sofa by the TV.
He was trying to get close to my seat but I would not let him.
So he trotted off into the kitchen and started complaining.
I got up, went in the kitchen to see what was wrong.
Everything looked fine. No strangers, he had food and water.
Rotten dog, I thought.
I walked back into the living room and there he was. Sitting in MY spot,
looking at me, with his tongue sticking out.
