Default moldy dog food?

for the last couple of days Lola hasn't been very interested in her food.
well, today i figured out why. i took a big scoop of food from the bag and
there were moldy clumps of kibble in it! this is California Natural, and
the expiration date is May 2004. we keep the food in the bag, and closed
with a big clip. the bag has been open for maybe three weeks.

has anyone ever seen this before? could this be caused by the way we store
it? i'm buying a large plastic container (with lid) today just to be sure.
or is it possible this was a bad bag/lot? i'm going to let the store where
we bought it know, but i don't want them to feel we're blaming them, so i
want to know all the possible causes of this.

i really like this brand, i don't want to change over this one incident, but
if anyone else has had this problem, please let me know!

thanks,
-kelly
