Ping: Melanie Chang
In a recent post (which I didn't have time to respond to and can't find now)
you were talking about a woman who was telling you that she wanted a BC to guard her fowl, and you were trying to convince her this was a Bad Idea. OK, so I'm seeking to increase my general knowledge, so I wanted to ask you if you would clarify. I have always thought of BC's as herders, and have always thought that herding dogs were bred to guard flocks, with or without a shepherd's supervision, and that they were bred to be outdoors most/all of their lives with or without companionship. Obviously, according to your post, I got it wrong. This disturbs me because I've loved/read about dogs all my life :-( Enlighten me please?
