Dog running away
I got a dog at the end of July from the shelter and since then she
has run away 4 times. The first two weren't bad they were just on our block and she was back in the house in 5 or 10 minutes. The next was about a mile away to down by the river about a mile away. The last one yesterday was 2 or more miles. The last 2 times she did this fake out thing like she was going to stop and let me put the leash on but then takes off running. Is the dog just nuts or what? What can I do to stop this or at least stop her when she runs. My dad thinks a shock collar but I think she would be scared to death of it and she wold never come out from under the bed she hides under. Would a dog whistle stop her or some kind of treat. I also was thinking if I could find a electronic noise maker that sounds like a dog since she usually ends up trying to play with dogs as she runs. Any suggestions would be very helpful!! |
