I have a 4 year old male Dane and no kids at this time. I've had my niece
and nephew 11/2 and 4 over a couple of times (seperately) and the Dane is ok
until the kid starts to walk around on their own. Then the Dane gets a
little nervous on what they are going to do next and treats them as some
kind of alien and is anxious, so at this time I do not let them interact at
all unless I am holding the child in which case the Dane is fine.

We live in the country and don't get too many visitors especially from small
children so I understand why he is nervous around them. Any kid shorter
than him then he is nervous. Now, I understand the dangers in this so if
you do not have any ideas, other then keeping the Dane and child seperated,
on how to socialize them then I will keep them at a distance at this time.
