Adopted Yorkie is Schizo
Adopted a 5 year old yorkie in May. Had been passed around to several homes
in the previous 6 months and probably treated badly by a young boy in one of them (so I am told). He gets along with our other 5 dogs fabulously well - always playing, never fights with any of them. He's usually very affectionate with me, too, and playful as well. However, he has now bitten me 3 times (cheek, chin and wrist). He has also nipped at my granddaughter, although he didn't break the skin. I know at least one of the times he bit me, it wasimmediately after I had inadvertantly frightened him. If it were just me concerned, I'd be willing to work on this behavior and even take pains to watch my own behavior so as not to provoke him. It's the grandchildren I worry about. Should I just get a tiny muzzle for when the kids are over? I love the little guy and don't want to give him up. Anybody have any suggestions? |
