Default Old Dog Teaches Herself New Tricks

Maybe it's the weather. Murphy really hates the heat, and if I have the a/c on
she will lie right up against it. Now it's finally cooling off. And Murphy's
behavior is changing. But in a *good* way.

I reported a while back that Madigan and MacKenzie started playing bitey-face,
when the only thing they played together up until that time was tug. Well,
Murphy used to play bitey-face with Madigan when she first joined the
household, but it only lasted until Maddie grew out of puppyhood. Then Murph
lost interest in playing with her at all.

Suddenly, there she is playing bitey-face with the other two!

The only toy that Murphy has *ever* paid any attention to is something that had
flavor and could be chewed (like sterilized bones). I look over today, and
she's gently chewing on a stuffed toy! She put it in her mouth and rolled on
her back, batting it around with her paws, like a puppy.

In the last month or so, she's even been better at her obedience. She's
responding more quickly, and appears to understand things more easily.

The only explanation I have is that the aliens took Murphy and replaced her
with a duplicate.
