Why does my beagle rub her shoulders on the grass??
I've got a 10-year old, neutered female beagle who when she get to the local
park on our walks does the following: aggressively sniffs the grass, find a certain spot, paws at it with one front paw, then crouches down and rubs her shoulders on the spot. This rubbing quickly evolves into rolling around on her back on the spot. She will repeat the action a number of times in the same spot before moving on. What going on here? I'm assuming she's being stimulated by a certain scent at the points where she rolls......something another dog or animal left behind, or maybe something to with vegatation. She's not rolling in any obvious substances that I can see, but something is certainly stimulating this activity. Thanks for any info. |
