Puppy Pheromones
I have a 5 1/2 year old Schnauzer bitch who has endured my now 7 month
Springer/Collie puppy since he was 11 weeks old. I understand that puppies give off a pheromone that prevents older dogs from biting them, other than in a playful manner. The problem is that my Schnauzer bitch is now fed up with the puppy biting her back legs continuously but she will not lose her temper and bite the puppy, to stop him doing it. She does want to play with him a lot of the time, but he keeps on and on and on!! I keep telling him off, but when my back is turned, he starts on her again. He isn't like this with our old 11 year old Schnauzer dog, who is blind, because he immediately retaliates. Can anybody offer any advice on when these puppy pheromones might stop. -- Many Thanks Enquirer -- Many Thanks Enquirer |
