Accupuncture
My Pomeranian has a herniated Disc.
Someone here recommended accupuncture - saying it worked for their dog. My little girl started having attacks again a week after completed Prednisone treatment. We will be taking her to the Vet again for xrays. If he recommends surgery as the next step, Id like to try accupuncture first. How do I find an accupuncturist for her? What credentials should I look for? Do Vets accept accupuncture as treatment? Thanks, Sunny |

Best to look for one IVAS certified, which means they have taken a whole course, not just a weekend workshop. You can find one through the directory at this page - AltVetMed: http://www.altvetmed.com/pages/organizations.html There are 2 organizations: IVAS - International Veterinary Acupuncture Society - offers certification and AAVA - The AMerican Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, which is recognized by the IVAS. If you are in the US you can find a vet in the directory of AAVA. The AAVA also has a list of vets who do acupuncture who are located at universities. There's aren't too many, but perhaps there might be one in your area. Best of luck to you and your pup buglady take out the dog before replying |
