Default Lyme Disease Vaccine

Anyone heard or can confirm that the Lyme Disease Vaccine for dogs causes
arthritis? One of my friends recommended not getting it, but I though it
might be good since we will be in the woods a lot.

there is some risk.

The vaccine for people is no longer available due to risky side
effects (arthritis, paralyzation, or even death) in some people.
Publically the SmithKline said it was because not enough people wanted
the vaccine, but they just dont mention the class action suits by
people in wheelchairs.

If the vaccine were 100% it might be worth the risk for your dog, but
since it is not... then that changes the situation.

I live in the city, so there are next to no cases of Lyme Disease. However,
I do a lot of backpacking, and I was concerned about my dog getting it while
on a long trip.

i have not heard that it causes arthritis but i have heard concerns
that there might be a connection between that vaccine and immune
mediated hemolytic anemia. whether that's true or not, i don't know,
but it concerns me enough to think twice.

how high an incidence of lyme disease is there where you live?

here's a map from the cdc showing the risk of lyme in the us
