Default recommendations on pet insurance

I was just wondering if others ((in the US) use pet insurance, if so,
what is your average costs/coverage and what company to you use and
would you recommend it?

I have VPI. I am pleased, but you may hear from others that are not. I pay
the basic $100 plus another $100 for Routine Care (covers reimbursements for
vacs, hw/flea prev, and $65 a year towards in invasive exam or spay). I get
my money back on the Routine Care.

I do not file for nor run of the mill stuff, but feel better knowing that if
something did come up, I would have the ability to pay.

For this one, you pay first, and then send in a file form, and are
reimbursed.

If you decide to get pet insurance, check with your vet first to see if the
practice needs to be a subscriber. Not all practices accept all pet
insurances, as many (but not all) severely limit what a vet can be
reimbursed for. Some companies also drop pet owners like a hot potato as
soon as the pet gets ill. Read the fine print.
