Default my dog is nipping

Hi all, I just adopted a Burnese Mountain Dog, Gordon Setter cross from the
spca. He is a year and a half old and seems very nippy with my 5 year old.
He nipped her on the leg and i am wondering if I should try to train this
out of him or just give him back. I don't want her to get hurt but it's
only been a day. Please help.
