I think you have a charming little elf to go with your pet elk.

Well, at least no one has called her a Giraffe.

Yet.

Yabbut, "elf" and "elk" go better in the same sentence, don't they?
Besides, I downgraded from "moose" when writing the above.

Thanks, everyone! I like "elk" AND "reindeer"! "Moose" should wait until
she's grown up. She'll be ten months old in five days. the little
monkey-type* fella will be three months old in three days.

*Actually, he and I are both monkeys in the Chinese horiscope. A little odd,
that, in that I'm 35 and it's a 36 year cycle, but the way it worked out was
that in 1969, the Chinese New Year switched over in February from Monkey to
Rooster, and I was born in January.

O my, what a cute pair. Your little boy looks great, considering his rough
start I should say fantastic. And Saskia is such a very good girl.

I have some pictures of Pablo and Dino nuzzling baby Soren. Dino, who was 10
when Soren was born, felt very strongly that he needed to be near him. I
have one picture of old Dino curled around Soren's car-seat while Soren was
napping in it, with his head resting right next to Soren's little belly.
Dino was a grand old guy with a huge heart. Even Pablo, who at that time was
nothing more than a big goofy pup, was very gentle with Soren.

Zeffie, true to her nature, was appalled about the whole baby situation.
When Soren cried, she came to me and clearly said "He's crying - DO
SOMETHING!" I do think she loved Soren in her own way. She rarely barked (an
anomaly for a collie) but if a stranger came, she stood firmly between Soren
and the newcomer and gave a couple of deep serious barks. And considering
how very competent she was, if Soren (i.e., Timmy) had fallen into a well.
Zeffie, in true Lassie fashion, would have quickly devised some sort of
pulley system to get him out while Dino and Pablo would've barked their fool
heads off.

Chris and her smoothies,
Pablo, who still loves his boy, and Lucy who thinks he's pretty keen as well

Thanks! Little Walter is doing us proud. He's gaining 300 grams (10 ounces)
a week, and about 1 1/2 weeks ago had his last bottle (never formula, always
the real stuff pumped off for him, but he wasn't very good at nursing due to
the intensive care start with feeding tubes and then bottles). He got better
and better at nursing and then started refusing bottles--a hair too early
because he eats pretty darn often again right now, including at night, but
he's getting the hang of bigger meals and longer sleeps! And he's really
advanced in things like reaching for stuff, smiling, and making cooing
noises. And Saskia, except for her shyness-with-strangers problem and the
occasional Teenager Moment like the other day's
chicken-chasing-while-suddenly-deaf shenanigans, is a VERY good girl. We're
very proud of her too. Today we're taking her to her first lesson with a
private trainer--all the puppy and young dog classes were so hard to reach
by public transport we had to give up, but this lady has a school
(recommended by our vet) for adult dogs only a 20-minute bus ride and a
short walk away. She wants to do 2 or 3 private sessions getting Saskia up
to speed to join the adult class. There, she'll learn all the stuff Dutch
dogs seem so good at--totally ignoring everything while lying quietly in a
restaurant or bar or post office, for example, or while trotting along the
busy street next to a bicycle. Not that she's not *pretty* good at these
things already. Well, we haven't tried the bicycle--Danes need a good long
time to grow into their bones before they should go trotting around on
pavement for hours.

I would LOVE to see the pics of your pupsters and baby!
