Default car rides

We don't take our shi-poo in the car very much, but lately when we do he
shakes and shivers. We tried taking him for short rides but it is getting
worse not better. It might have something to do with his being picked up by
the 'groomer' every 2 or 3 months because I know he doesn't like to get in
her vehicle. Should we ask the vet for some 'calming medicine' for him or is
there some other way to help him with this. It is definitely a 'fear' of
some kind.

does he get sick in the car at all? That was my toy poodle's issue. He
would throw up everytime. I got him a $20 car seat from PetSmart and now he
is fine. He sits in it and can see out the window because it boosts him up
high enough. He is also not right on the seat and doesn't feel the bumps
and such in the road. He loves it. He doesn't get sick either.

No, he doesn't get sick. Today I put him on my lap while I drove but it
didn't help.
