Default Suddenly . . .

Our six month old beagle is chewing on floor trim and wall in one area of
the house. It's upstairs near our bedroom and where he often takes naps
during the day. Any suggestions on how to break him of this, what's started
it ? He has plenty of chew toy's bones etc. He has his adult teeth and
doesn't seem to be chewing on any other furniture.

Sounds like he's pissed 'cause he's being left alone. Any changes in his
daily routine?

Yep, he needs to be occupied. Also, if need be, a little Tobasco on the area
being chewed may make it unpleasant enough for him. But if he's doing it to
occupy his time, he'll just find something else.

may also want to have his teeth checked. If he's got an abscess or anything
causing discomfort, he might chew to ease the pain.

Meanwhile, I'd suggest blocking his access to the area he's started chewing
on, using the chew-stop sprays or such that they have to discourage that
sort of behavior, and making sure he has lots of things to occupy his time
and energy. If he's bored, he's chewing to give himself something to do,
and the wall is more interesing then his toys..

My wife, my and I are with him constantly. The only change is that when he
was a little puppy we used to let him up on our bed. We don't do that
anymore with all the hair etc. He sure knows better than to do it though
cause the instant I catch him doing it he high tails it for his bed.
