Filtered Water?
We have tried filtered water (brita faucet filter) and like the
taste. Our dogs drink more water when it is filtered as well. What about bottled water good bad? |

The only bad thing I have heard about "bottled water" is the lack of
fluoride. "Bichon.ca" wrote in message ... We have tried filtered water (brita faucet filter) and like the taste. Our dogs drink more water when it is filtered as well. What about bottled water good bad? |

It depends on the bottled water you buy. Some are from the faucet! Others are spring water. Some are purified, others are not. Distilled isn't a good idea. I use a Pur filter pitcher for my family (which includes the dogs). I also cook with filtered water. All of the raw diet books I have read suggest only filtered water for the dogs. But then, a raw fed dog does not drink very much water. My dogs (Rhodesian Ridgebacks) have a small dish for water that holds maybe a quart of water, and I only fill it half way, fresh every day. In my case, the expense (in filter replacement) is minimal. René |

What about bottled water good bad? filtered is a lot less expensive than bottled, and is just as good. we gave the dogs distilled water when our power was out, and they didn't seem to drink any less/more of it than the filtered. the water at my house is so full of minerals that you can smell it, and the dogs don't drink it unless we filter it. funny how they have no problem drinking from mud puddles, though. -kelly |
