Looking for Sheltie - Montreal area
I have a friend looking for a Sheltie. She does not want a pup and would
prefer a young adult male. She is hoping for a Blue merle but is willing to adopt any male sheltie. She has two daughters so it would be nice if he were housetrained with some discipline if possible. I tried contacting the rescue group in Quebec but there is nothing right now (which, in itself, is not a bad thing. It means there are no shelties in distress, at least that we know of). The search has been broadened to Ontario but no news so far. Anyone knows of a young male looking for an enthusiastic home ? Deborah Remove "&mizar" to respond |

While I would not normally recommend any type of internet advertising site, there is one site that I can recommend - http://www.everythingsheltie.com/viewtheads.htm . I suggest that your friend place an ad there (free) as the site is viewed by many Sheltie fanciers and breeders and she may have some luck making connections. All the normal caveats apply - she should take time to determine if the breeder is responsible and may have to wait for the right dog. Chances are, there are breeders out there with pups that were being grown out for show that either went over or under size or otherwise are not show potential, but would make fantastic pets. Make sure you click on "find a breed alphabetically" rather than the breeder showcase thing if this link doesn't take you there. http://www.dogs-in-canada.com/breeds..._showcase.html |
