Default R.I.P. Pebbles 1994-2005

After a night in an oxygen tank at the ER for inability to breathe and
heightened distress Pebbles was laid to rest this morning. An enlarged
heart but no blockage or foreign objects. My vet found a significantly
sized tumor at the base of her throat upon examination this morning and
efforts to ease her distress, even temporarily, failed.

She was going to turn 11yo this month. She's endured countless big, goofy
dogs, a separation & reconciliation of her humans and a host of health
issues over the last few years. She was an incredibly intelligent &
opinionated dog who, unlike many Min. Dachshunds, was very easy on her poor
humans. I sincerely hope her pain is over and she felt as treasured as we
know she was. We will certainly never forget or stop missing her.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Tara. Isn't is amazing what big holes
little tiny dogs can leave in hearts and lives?

Okay, so I read that as "hearts and livers" and thought, well, dog
group, mini-Dachs, hearts and livers, yeah, that's about right.

So, hearts and livers to those who can appreciate them, and hugs to Tara
for doing what had to be done. Dogs don't live long enough, and 11 is a
mere pup.

Naturally the 'at' should be changed! The number also needs to be spelled
out.

Dogs can leave mighty big holes in livers, too, if they're lucky
enough to steal them.

So, hearts and livers to those who can appreciate them, and hugs to Tara

Especially for mini-Dachsies which, judging from the one that's living
here, think they're huge and invincible.
