What are you looking for in a dog? MOST shelter dogs aren't breeds.
But they are very loving, and need loved.
Do you want one long haired? Short haired? Small? Medium? Large?
Do you want one VERY active? or a couch potato? Does it have to be young
or
old? Do you want a training project? Or one that's been evaluated and you
have an idea if it gets along with kids, cats? Do you want to know if it's
got a previous history? Does it dig? Is it a counter surfer? Does it potty
in the house? or come pre-housebroken? Are you going to use it as a gaming
dog? Or jogging partner?
What ARE you looking for in a dog? Is shedding permissable? OR are you
willing to spend money at the groomers to primp your dog? (either / or)
Will it have a fenced back yard? A farm? if farm, what do you expect it's
duties to be? Will it sleep in the house? Oh my gosh, there are so many
things to think about that my head hurts.

Different newsreaders thread differently, so when you fix a post
it's best to put it in the same thread as the original. That's
my opinion, anyway.
