I work at home and want a toy dog to keep me company. I ave narrowed it
down to two breeds please help! My first choice would be a chihuahua
but I am so afraid I would fall on it ect. Because it is so fragile. My
aunt has two malteses so that would be my second choice. Please help..

A chihuahua shouldn't, if properly bred, be any more fragile than a
maltese. I would not choose on that basis. The two breeds are very
different. You should choose the one that best matches your preferences
for personality, activity level, coat care etc.

It is a lot harder to find a chihuahua breeder who even knows how to breed
for good health, than a maltese. Even maltese are not so easy to find
both educated and caring breeders. There is a tendency to decide that
good health isn't important for "just a pet."
