Default Balanced diet ?

Im new to this group and looking for answers. Please.

We have just lost our Jack russel crossed with collie dog.

We had her for only seven years and just 4 weeks ago she went off her food
with loss of energy and behavioural changes etc.

Several visits to the vet and a scan revealed Liver Cancer.

My Question is what could cause this in such a young dog? her diet was
mainly chicken and rice fed twice a day or tuna and rice the same, a friend
has suggested an imbalanced diet could be to blame and scraps from the table
could be to blame or add to the problem, or as she was originally a RSPCA
rescue dog she could have inherited the problem.

thanks in advance.

Steve

Steve,

Very sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, it was probably
genetics. I guess we could ask the same questions about all the
children that have cancer? A cruel twist of fate but at least your pup
had a good life while she was with us.

Best regards,

Dave
