Does he have any toys? I'm guessing that he's playing with rocks
because he's bored.

Some dogs are rockheads. Mine was (and is) the same way. Two problems,
one is that it can damage their teeth, two is that if they swallow one,
can cause blockage.

Never did come up with a good way to discourage this habit.

Mine is young yet (3 months) was hoping someone had an idea to keep
him rock free, maybe outside toys?
Thanks for any info

I had a puppy who loked to pick up rocks and carry them
around. We'd do trades (I'd give him something tasty in
exchange for the rock) and he eventually outgrew it. If
he's actually ingesting them, that's a very serious problem.
